co-design
everyone becomes a co-creator
At Tatsuno, we see design as more than visual expression. It also encompasses memories, emotions, relationships, and other elements that may not always be visible.
Design takes shape when different perspectives and experiences come together through dialogue and practice. That is why we value the process itself: thinking together, trying things out, learning from one another, and gradually giving form to what emerges.
Co-Design is one way we put this belief into practice. It brings people with different perspectives into the creative process, not simply to choose between predetermined answers, but to explore possibilities and shape what comes next together.
Together with educator Nobuyuki Ueda, we have continued to explore and practice our own approach to Co-Design, inspired by his philosophy of “Playful Thinking” and developed through dialogue, experimentation, and collaboration with partners in Japan and beyond.
With curiosity and a serious spirit of play, we create space for each person to take part, contribute, and discover their own creative potential. New perspectives and insights that emerge through the process become the starting point for what we try next.
